The eSAU108 is already available in pearl white and burgundy red colors, and will soon be complemented with stylish piano black (from February) and navy blue (from April) colors.
"Offering more colors of the external slim DVD writer is a logical consequence of the trends in the notebook PC market", says Jelmer Veldman, marketing manager for Lite-On in Europe. "Where notebooks used to be black or grey, we can now see much more emphasis on design and colors. Notebooks are getting more fashionable: smaller in size, trendy in design, and available in a wide spectrum of colors. Our external slim DVD writers are going in that same direction. Also for accessories to their notebooks, consumers are looking for products that are not only meeting their functional and quality expectations but also match their lifestyle in terms of fashion."
For the selection of new colors Lite-On has consulted their website visitors. On http://www.liteonit.com people had the opportunity to vote for their favorite color. "Black and blue were by far the two favorites", says Jelmer Veldman, "so we are confident to add those two to the line-up. We are very positive about consulting consumers in the development stage of products. Their opinion is very valuable to us, so I'm looking forward to use this tool again", adds Veldman.
Writing speeds are 8X for DVD±R and DVD+RW, 6X for DVD±R DL and DVD-RW, 5X for DVD-RAM and 24X for CD-R(W). Reading speeds are 8X for DVD-ROM and 24X for CD-ROM.
